Newton's Third Law of Motion
Newton's third law states that when something exerts force on another thing, that object also exerts a force equal to the magnitude and direction as the first object, or action reaction. In terms of rocketry, thrust is the reaction and the action would be from the engine when it is ignited causing a small explosion.
The Engine
Engines
Fail Scenario
When the Eggscaliber is launched with a D12-0 engine, there is no delay time between the time when the engine shuts off to when the parachute is deployed. The sudden change of force can easily break the egg. To avoid total fetus annihilation, it is best to use B6-2, C6-3, C11-3, D12-3, E9-4.
Vagabond Engines
The Vagabond can take four types of engines. They are D12-5, D12-7, E9-6, E9-8. The D12-5 engine is the smallest engine. Its delay time is 5s and the impulse is lower than the E engines so it does not go as high. E9-8 is the largest engine. The delay time is 8s and the impulse is higher than D engines. We chose the E9-6 engine because it was going to go high and the rocket simulator said that the delay time was the most appropriate.
